Azenza Salon Takes Center Stage at
Detroit Fashion Week
BIRMINGHAM, Michigan, September 18, 2009 – Azenza Salon will take center stage tonight at Detroit Fashion Week’s first ‘Salon Showcase’ event held at D’Amato’s Restaurant in Royal Oak.
Select salons across the Detroit Metropolitan area will showcase up to 20 of their hottest and most innovative styling and beauty creations designed specifically for the runway at tonight’s Salon Showcase. Azenza Salon and Spa has been participating in Detroit Fashion Week (DFW) since the salon opened in 2007, but this year DFW named Azenza the “lead salon” for the 2009 event.
“This new event is a great way to get the salon community together and really show-off the abundance of true artistic talent that exists in this city,” said Joan Cauzillo, co-owner of Azenza Salon and Spa. “It gives our stylists a chance to explore new trends outside of the traditional styling box, and it is creating this amazing energy both in our salon and in the community.”
Azenza Salon stylists and models will be wearing signature fashions designed by Detroit Manufacturing, creators of the Detroit Muscle line, and Dempster Designs, creators of Detroit Rock, who have created a runway style that reflects the spirit and attitude of Detroit
“Our theme for tonight’s event is ‘Detroit Rock Chic’,” said Daniel Zavala, co-owner of Azenza. “We’ve partnered with Detroit Muscle and Detroit Rock to create a sexy, rock-n-roll style that is all about Detroit and our culture here.”
The styling team at Azenza will be working with the Detroit Fashion Week models and local fashion designers to create original styles that reflect the ground-breaking, local fashion and style of Detroit.
In addition to Azenza’s participation in local fashion events and activities, the salon also gives generously to their community and is involved in several local charities. Azenza Salon & Spa recently partnered with Michigan Works! agencies for the charitable ‘Project: Beyond Beauty’ program, offering complimentary salon services for unemployed Oakland and Livingston County residents actively participating in the Jobs, Education, and Training (JET) program in the Oakland County Michigan Works! and Livingston County Michigan Works! agencies.
Azenza Salon & Spa opened in August, 2007 and is a full-service salon and spa. Located at 130 W. 14 Mile Rd., Birmingham, Michigan, Azenza is co-owned by Joan Cauzillo and Daniel Zavala.
